Class Code Summary:
Workers Comp class code 9534 is used for employees that perform mobile crane, hoisting, or rigging operations for others, not otherwise classified. This is an all-inclusive classification that is designed to include workers in all areas of operations, including drivers and yard employees. Examples of work that is commonly performed by those in this classification include the transportation of hoisting equipment to and from work sites, rigging steel derricks used to erect steel structures, moving and hoisting of things from the ground to rooftops or upper stores of buildings, and other similar hoisting or rigging related functions. Hoisting or lifting operations are typically done using mobile hoisting equipment, block and fall, jacks, shoring timbers, rollers, ropes and cables, and booms.
The leasing or rental of mobile cranes and other hoisting devices without operators is excluded.
