Class Code Summary:
Workers Comp class code 9521 is used for employers that provides residential or commercial home furnishing installation as well as incidental upholstering services, not otherwise classified. Examples of products that may be installed include slipcovers, curtains, draperies, window shades, Venetian blinds, and wooden window shutters. Additionally, class code 9521 also includes the installation, maintenance, repair, removal, and replacement of interior and exterior signs such as exit signs, wall directories, restroom signs, and directional signs. All work, including upholstering operations and sign functions, will be performed away from the shop and must be done from the floor or a stepladder to be included. The use of equipment such as scaffolding, cranes, hoists, forklifts, etc. is not allowed.
